Revs reflexology and insomnia or bad sleep quality

How to improve your quality of sleep with Reflexology & Revs.

A poor sleep routine or quality of sleep can affect so many different areas of your life. From your relationships to work to your physical wellbeing. Being awake for longer than 17 hours leads to a decrease in performance equivalent to a blood alcohol level of 0.05%*. That means that negative effects of lack of sleep can be just as bad as alcohol!
Needless to say, there are many benefits to improved sleep quality:
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Improved concentration
  • Reduced mood swings
  • Increased creativity
  • Increased sex drive
  • Stronger immune system
  • Increased energy
  • Reduction in harmful effects of stress

Alongside all the benefits above, a good quality of sleep can help keep your heart healthy.

A meta-analysis, which is several studies joined together (which gives it greater statistical strength) stated that ‘foot reflexology is a useful nursing intervention to relieve fatigue and to promote sleep’. Finally, a research project that looked into what reflexology does in improving sleep showed there are changed in the activity of brainwaves. The changes correspond with an increased level of sleepiness and of going into the deep level of non-rapid eye movement sleep. There is a gradual transition from wakefulness, through sleepiness, to deep sleep, which may explain many of the benefits obtained in the listed studies.

There is a foot relaxation technique known as Diaphragm Rocking that can help to improve your sleep quality. This particular technique stems from the way in which mothers (and fathers) rock their babies and children to sleep. By putting light pressure on your diaphragm reflex on the sole of your foot and rocking your foot lightly from side to side, you can increase the likely hood of you falling into a restful sleep relatively quickly.

The Revs® Massage insole works in a similar way to a Reflexology treatment. One of the main reflexes to focus on is the pineal gland (the sleep gland which secretes melatonin which promotes sleep, located on your big toes) and also the diaphragm helping to relax you.

Not only are our insoles specially designed to improve your generally wellbeing and quality of sleep, but we also have a plethora of reviews on our TrustPilot from customers all over the world who have found our Revs sandals, slippers and insoles have helped them.
