PLANTAR FASCIITIS

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

Plantar Fasciitis, or Heel Spur as some people commonly refer to it, is inflammation of the plantar fascia. The fascia is a ligament, or strong band of tissue, on the plantar or sole of your foot which stretches from the heel bone to the metatarsal. The Plantar Fasciia is very important in supporting the arch of your foot.

Revs reflexology sandals are designed to treat plantar fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is caused by inflicting injury on your fascia, and usually repeatedly through walking or running regularly, or if you are on your feet all day, the consistent pressure of standing can aggravate the fascia. If you are overweight, this can also put stress on the feet which in turn affects the health of the fascia. Other factors that could cause Plantar Fasciitis are intense training and exercise, especially if you do not warm-up and stretch your calf and feet muscles. Achilles tendonitis can also aggravate the plantar fascia. This ligament may prevent you from moving your ankle comfortably and put a strain on the plantar fascia, our specially designed insoles, shoes, sandals & slippers for Plantar Fasciitis can dramatically reduce the recovery from this type of condition.

Plantar Fasciitis — Similar Conditions

A similar condition is Policeman’s heel, and can often be confused with Plantar Fasciitis as the symptoms are similar. The medical terms for Policeman’s heel is Plantar Calcaneal Bursitis, which is when the fluid-filled sac sits in between the heel and the plantar fascia becomes inflamed. The pain can be severe, that why we recommend our specialist shoes for plantar fasciitis relief.

Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spurs and Policeman’s heel can all also develop or be irritated from wearing shoes with no arch support or cushioning. They are very common and occur in at least 10% of the population, with women more than 50% likely than men to experience these conditions. Perhaps this has something to do with ladies footwear! Tight toes and high heels are not helpful for foot health, unfortunately.

The pain is different for everyone, some people experience it all day, or just when they are training, some after resting their feet, and some get it in one foot, or in both feet at the same time. But in all cases, it is very painful and can be highly frustrating for everyone, especially those who are used to being active and on their feet a lot. Revs shoes for plantar fasciitis are designed to specifically reduce the pain and agony that can be developed through plantar fasciitis

Our advice initially is to check your footwear. You may find some shoes for plantar fasciitis feel better than others, and it may be down to the brand and quality of the sole, the arch and the comfort.

The cushioning, the arch support and the massaging effect of the Revs insole in all the Revs range of shoes has helped many sufferers of plantar fasciitis.

Specifically Designed Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

The sole of the Revs footwear is designed using rubber and elastomer materials which provides a cushioned and shock-absorbing sole, this helps to take the pressure off the sole of the feet and provides comfort for standing or walking. You may find many footwear brands that offer arch support or cushion comfort, but the additional benefit of the Revs sole is that you will receive the massaging effects of the rubber nodules, our specifically designed shoes for plantar fasciitis target each and every reflex and nerve point in the foot. The massaging effects will soothe and relieve the pain and will help to relax you. The reflexology foot massage you receive from wearing Revs, will also help to reduce the inflammation by working on the adrenal glands reflexes. The adrenal glands, also known as suprarenal glands, and are part of the endocrine system, produce the hormone cortisol which has anti-inflammatory effects, so by stimulating the adrenal glands with the massage nodules, it will help secrete this hormone and in turn produce the anti-inflammatory effects in the body.
